• BIO:
Back in stride after taking a break from her music for more than 30 years to pursue her professional career in child welfare, Natalie Jeanne established her own group “Riddle Me That!” & Friends. Allowing her passion for composing and performing to serve as her inspiration, "Riddle Me That!" has collaborated with a dynamic group of Friends to play music from all the genres that she loves best; Jazz, Blues, Fusion, and R&B. Natalie composed *1974) and released a song (2018) entitled " Song For My Mother" which can be heard on her press kit. Even during the pandemic, Natalie Jeanne and Friends composed the soundtrack for the documentary “Pave the Way I-496 Project” which will be released by the Historical Society of Greater Lansing later this year (2021-2022).

Natalie Jeanne grew up in a musical family in Lansing, Michigan. Her family knew that she had a musical gift when, at the age of 3, she began tinkering on the piano. Growing up listening to many of the jazz greats, Natalie became accustomed to hearing and playing an era of music that was far beyond her age. At 11, Natalie was featured as a Grinnell Musical Artist through Marshall Music’s Guest Performer Series and was showcased on the local news as a “musician to look out for in the coming years.” She went on to play in and win several local and regional piano/organ competitions and was awarded the Yamaha Judges Distinguished Performance Award in 1973. By the time she was 16 years old, Natalie had played numerous functions and events and had established herself as a professional.

Natalie has had the opportunity to sit in to play alongside several professional artists; Tim Cunningham while they were both still in high school, recording artists Jack McDuff, Lonnie Liston Smith, Yancyy and Gail Jhonson (Jazz In Pink).

Hope you enjoy what you see and hear and if you're wanting to have live music at your next event, please listen to our audio files at the top of the page and give us a try. We look forward to hearing from you!

++ I drove in a blizzard with white out conditions for Riddle Me That's debut appearance and I'd do it again! Awesome showing...I hated to leave. It was also a nice turn out with the weather conditions not being favorable. We'd like you to try to book Riddle Me That for our jazz festival in downtown Grand Rapids this summer! Once again, an outstanding show!!!
