BIO:
Named after the great Eric Clapton, Eric Schock has embraced the moniker with consummate passion. At age eight he began taking guitar lessons. At 12 he was writing songs. At 13 he was touring the Mid-Atlantic club circuit as the only teenager in his first band while working with Grammy-nominated engineer and producer, David Ivory and has been raising eyebrows and dropping jaws ever since. Eric is equally at ease on acoustic with a cellist backing him or strapping on the electric with a full band and everything cranked to 11.
Eric’s mind soaks-up most genres of music taking inspiration from each and using them to fill his extensive artist's pallet. Eric's influences are anchored in the greatest names of the past including Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, David Gilmour and Eddie Van Halen. This profound base seamlessly weaves into more modern influences like Mark Tremonti, 30 Seconds To Mars, Incubus, Silverchair, Dredg and more to provide the quintessential modern-day guitarist’s guitarist who appeals to two generations of listeners.
With this vibrant array of colors in his arsenal, Eric masterfully paints riffs and songs that comprise his notable signature sound. Now at age 26, Eric's fervent, emotive, and dynamic stage presence; charming, polite and respectful personality; songwriting prowess and all-around maturity and dedication to the art have combined to quickly propel his distinctive lead-guitar talents to the forefront of modern rock in the region. Eric is now working as a solo artist, continually writing and recording, shopping his music.
Eric's talents can also be heard on the 2008 album, 'my incurable obsession' that was co-produced, engineered and mixed by David Ivory with Eric’s former band, ‘Not Alone’. Eric wrote or co-wrote each track and co-produced the album. Check them out at notaloneband.com or by clicking 'network' in the menu above.
