The Decade of Vinyl Tour breaks away from standard cover sets to offer a curated live experience centered around classic album culture.
"We wanted to honor the tactile, immersive experience of listening to music on vinyl," says Dave McCandlish, our newest member featured on Bass and Keys and recently elevated from the legendary central Ohio band "Rock This Way". "This tour is a living record collection and I'm excited to help bring it to life.

PREMIER TRIBUTE ACT CIRCA '79 performs at the 2026 Zane Trace Commemoration in Zanesville, Ohio
Columbus Ohio – June 20 2026
Circa ’79 is honored to perform at the 2026 Zane Trace Commemoration festival. Held in the historic Putnam district along Muskingum Avenue, it blends educational history exhibits, blacksmith demonstrations, and a parade with modern family entertainment like live music, a car show, 5K/10K runs, and local food trucks.
Renowned tribute band Circa ‘79 will be test driving it’s 2028 Cleveland Rocks Tour, a conceptual live music experience designed to transport audiences back to the legendary heyday of Northeast Ohio rock and roll.
The tour centers on the swagger of Cuyahoga Falls native Chrissie Hynde, the storytelling of Joe Walsh the “Average Guy”, My Town’s larger than life local hero Michael Stanley and others, delivering a tribute to the driving hooks and powerhouse vocals of all the rock gems from the northern coast of Ohio. Beyond the music of Hynde, the show channels the electric, rebellious energy of a vintage WMMS 100.7 FM "The Buzzard" Friday night weekend kick-off show—the iconic radio broadcast that famously made Cleveland the undisputed rock capital of the world.
"We wanted to create more than just a standard cover set," says Helen Foucht, Lead Vocalist. "The Cleveland Rocks Tour is a time machine. We are bringing back the exact energy of Kid Leo breaking legendary tracks on the airwaves, the local stadium anthems sung at Richfield Coliseum and Cleveland Municipal Stadium, and the grit and grind of the 1970s and 80s Ohio music scene. It’s a collective celebration of rock history."

Buckeye Lake Winterfest is a massive, single-day winter party held every year on the last Saturday of January around the lake's shoreline. Modeled after Groundhog day, Benny the Bass is placed in a heated tank at dawn (6:30 AM) at the North Shore Ramp. Minnows are added to the tank at 7:00 AM with a three-minute timer. If Benny eats a minnow, it predicts an early spring; if he refuses, it means six more weeks of winter.

Circa ’79 is excited to announce that David McCandlish and Steve Ghiloni from the legendary Central Ohio band, “Rock this way” will be joining forces with Circa ’79.
As part of the new union, we will be establishing a local Central Ohio club circuit version of the band, and also continue to bring to life a fairs and festivals version of the band that will perform a “Faux Tour-themed” tribute band experience, with each summer bringing a new tour focus with complimentary merchandise and advertising.

In addition, long time bassist Bill Carson will be moving to a substitute role so that he can focus on his family and music classes at Berklee school of music. We wish Bill all the luck with new endeavors as well.
