are known as a Soul, R&B party AND HORN TRIBUTE band, Playing the music Of: Chicago, Earth, Wind,& Fire,Tower of Power and Blood, Sweat, & Tears. Based out of North Myrtle Beach , SC. Their musical repertoire covers decades of hits from your favorite artists and genres of music including soul, rhythm & blues, funk, reggae, jazz standards, country, 50, 60's and Carolina Beach Music. In addition of performing some the most current hits that are topping the charts today, the group has had many successful chart topping hits on local radio and internet stations across North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. Gary Lowder & SMOKIN’ HOT..... are comprised of multi-talented musicians who have come together to produce incredible performances each and every time they take the stage.
Carolina Beach Music Awards! The Carolina Beach Music Association awarded Gary Lowder & Smokin Hot with "CD OF THE YEAR" in 2013 & 2020 at the Alabama Theater, Title : Soul Therapy, and "Soul On Fire"
In 2014, the group was nominated for "GROUP OF THE YEAR". In 2015 Gary Lowder & Smokin Hot were nominated for thirteen Carolina Beach Music Awards, In 2016 Gary Lowder and Smokin' Hot were nominated for 6 CBMA Awards, including Male Vocalist (G. Lowder), Group Album (Playin' With Fire 2) Entertainer (G. Lowder), Engineer & Producer (J.K.Loftin-Playin' With Fire 2), Collaboration or Duo (G. Lowder & Marsha Morgan,"Too Many Tears". GARY LOWDER ~ A multi-talented singer and musician, founder Gary Lowder is the winner of two CAROLINA BEACH MUSIC AWARDS in 2013...(Best Solo Album and Best Duo).. Gary is Lead vocals, and also plays trumpet, flugelhorn, and percussion. A writer, vocalist, and producer, he was nominated by the Carolina Beach Music Association for his "COASTIN" CD & Song of the year in 2012. Gary is a former member of the Entertainers, Mark Roberts Band, Legends of Beach, and founding member of the Carolina Breakers, which won ""Favorite New Group" also at the 2012 CAMMY awards....

SAX MAN: "Funky" Leroy Harper Jr traveled with the legendary James Brown as a member for 15 years...
~ "Funky' has performed all over the world with James Brown and also some of the top acts in the business.
SAX MAN: Art Amaral - Sax & Vocals
A Massachusetts native, Art has been playing professionally since the age of 13 where he needed an adult to accompany him to the clubs and bars where he made his "bones", playing with musicians three and four times his age.
Over the next several years, he honed his skills with local and regional bands of many genres. From orchestras, big band swing, jazz, blues and funk, Art has definitely developed his own style and skills.
A veteran of countless hours in the studio, Art has recorded with and for local talent as well as giants in the music industry.
Twenty years in California gave him the opportunity to play at the hottest jazz and blues clubs in LA....a once in a lifetime experience!
His touring credits include opening for The Steve Miller Band, Huey Lewis and The News, The Four Tops, Eric Carmen, Tommy James and the Shondells and The Vanilla Fudge.
He has landed in Georgetown and now fully enjoys life with his wife Terry and is thrilled to be a part of Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot!

Last night at O'hara's it was so Smokin Hot, I'm surprised the Fire Department did not show up! What a great time and Jeff Foster you're in for a great time in Spartanburg with them tonight. Last night was one of the best parties EVER! THANK YOU John Barkley AND Eric Bowman FOR PUTTING THIS TOGETHER. I think Smokin' Hot made one hell of an impression with their 1st Charlotte appearance! Diane and I are still smiling, laughing, and talking about what a great time it was last night!

Had a fun last night with Rick and Shirley Pollard !,, Was one of those nights..Fat Harold's first stop....If you get a chance to see and listen to" SMOKIN HOT " Go !, We saw them last night at Duck's and they are awesome. Ya'll know I am just not a "band person" but this band is HOT for sure, Gary Lowder has a voice like no other...Let me be clear, I like CWB and a couple of others, I am just a DJ kinda girl

Fantastic band!! Extremely professional but very personal approach. Everyone was dancing, we received so many compliments on them and their music. They have a very wide range that has something for everyone. Another major plus is that the band members really look like they love doing what they do and playing music together. You cannot go wrong with hiring them.

Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot brought the heat to Duck’s Beach Club for their first Friday Night appearance. The grateful crowd danced the night away to the powerful rhythms and vocals stronger than Duck’s house vodka and sweeter than Grandma’s iced tea. Gary couldn’t be contained to the stage and spent most of the night mingling with the crowd as he sang beach, rock, rhythm & blues, along with a little disco and pop. Gary Lowder could sing the Horry County Phone Book and make it sound like that magical Carolina Beach music we all love.
Terry Nash has to be one of the most talented keyboard players in the southeast. JK Loftin is unbelievable on the guitar. When he really gets into jammin’, it’s as if he is having a conversation with the devil (I mean that as a compliment JK) It was great to see Curly White on bass. The crowd loved his rendition of Walkin’ the Dog.
