Southern Special Band - "Now It's a Party" College Campus Tour - Opening Weekend
September, 2014 - This promotional music video was filmed during the first three shows of the Southern Special Band's "Now It's a Party" College Campus Tour of 2014 (fall semester). Set to the band's blistering pop-punk cover of the anthemic party classic, "Brown Eye'd Girl" and filmed simply on a cell phone and Go-Pro camera, producer Jeffrey "Juice" Tench effectively captures and conveys the intensity and energy of a live Southern Special Band party. The Southern Special Band wishes to thank and recognize James Madison University, Hampden-Sydney College, Longwood University, Hollins University, the University of Virginia, Sweet Briar College, and Virginia Commonwealth University for the hospitality and new friends, as well as the following Greek organizations (in no order) for throwing down and turning up like few others: Theta Chi, Pi Beta Chi, Sigma Nu, Pi Kappa Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Sigma Sigma Sigma, ZTA, Tri-Delta, Kappa Delta, ASA, Alpha Delta Pi, and Phi Mu. Very special thanks to Monster Energy Drinks, DC Shoes, Paul Kim, Seth Rose, Brian Sowers, Zack, Ryan Hall, Neal Vespe, Katie Hinnenkamp, the one and only MKO, Grant Gubbins, Josh Gaskill, Eric Foster, Nick Palmer, & Don Gruntzel. Audio production by Kelly Steak @ Pro Sound of Fredericksburg, VA and Mike Tate of Pro-Tek Audio of Roanoke, VA. "Brown Eye'd Girl" recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jeff Covert @ Wally Cleaver's Recording Studio in Fredericksburg, VA.

About
Now one of the most notorious college-rock/party/cover bands on the east coast, and featured on Playboy Magazine's "Top Party Schools" college campus tour of 2012, The Southern Special Band has been rewriting the formula for performing live cover songs since 2010. One of only seven such bands in the entire country, the Southern Special creates modern mash-ups and unique "original" versions of classic frat-house party anthems and sing-alongs. No style or genre is off limits; from Bob Marley to Blink 182, from Steppenwolf to Green Day, The SSB is going to give every party-goer something that makes 'em wanna turn up and turn out.
